Janet Hizar Hansford is a visionary author and scholar who dares to look at the genesis of this planet and the human species from reputable non-traditional sources—ranging from obscure to fantastic. Respectful of science, she reasons that this point of view only supplies partial answers, and falls short in answering the truly profound questions of human existence. History needs a revisionist author like Dr. Hansford. In the last decade or two, a new breed of explorer has arisen from the ranks of scholarly pursuits of our human heritage. These are the risk takers and the deep thinkers with a penchant for travel and independent inquiry. Anthrogenesis, her first book in this genre, brings forth unique gems of knowledge from the ancient literature, modern savants and the inscrutable wisdom seekers of the early twentieth century- the Theosophists. It contains nuggets of information that fit together to reveal a new picture of evolution and our place in the galaxy.

Dr. Janet Hizar Hansford received her Ph.D. in 1988 in Clinical Psychology from William Lyon University, San Diego, California. She also holds an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and a B.S., with Honors, in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton. She is a trained ‘Ericksonian’ hypnotherapist and certified EMDR practitioner, licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She has aided those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and worked with patients with severe abuse issues. Dr. Jan continued her personal and professional growth by leading sacred meditative practices, women’s empowerment groups, spirit work with tribal indigenous peoples, vision quests, and energy work.

The need for stress reduction and Carl Jung’s transpersonal approaches of dreaming and the connection of our collective unconscious became foremost in Dr. Jan’s repertoire and she assimilating sacred practices such as African dance and drumming into her practice. Her work with mind-body healing practices was profoundly aspiring while adding another avenue to help others.

Now relocated in Arizona, Dr. Hansford has held positions such as Research Fellow for the DSM-V with the American Psychiatric Association, Dissertation Chair at Northcentral University and the Clinical Supervisor for New Horizon Youth Homes, while conducting ongoing research.

Of course, her true passion is to discover the answer to the Mysteries of Life.
